Sheriff Mark Swinton

Sheriff Mark Swinton was sworn into office on January 7, 2025, after earning the trust and support of Cimarron County residents. With a strong background in law enforcement, he brings years of experience in public safety, community policing, and criminal investigations to the role.

Prior to becoming Sheriff, he served as Undersheriff of Cimarron County, a position he held from October 2023 until his election. His leadership in this role reinforced his commitment to protecting and serving the community with integrity and professionalism.

Sheriff Swinton's law enforcement career began at the Luther Police Department, where he has served as a Police Officer since August 2020. His experience in local policing has provided him with a deep understanding of public safety challenges and the importance of building strong relationships with the community.

A graduate of Ripley High School, Sheriff Swinton pursued studies in Homeland Security, Law Enforcement, Firefighting, and Related Protective Services, equipping him with the knowledge and skills necessary to lead the Cimarron County Sheriff’s Office effectively.

As Sheriff, Mark Swinton is dedicated to enhancing public safety, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring that Cimarron County remains a safe and welcoming place for all residents.
